Write for High Road Policy

We welcome pitches on policies, campaigns and governance strategies for a more democratic economy, especially from people working in Upstate New York. Pieces should be action-oriented, persuasive and grounded in evidence.

  • Briefs run up to 6,000 words, including references, endnotes, tables and figures. Longer pieces are considered case by case.
  • Use endnotes, not footnotes, and any common citation style, applied consistently.
  • Send a Microsoft Word file. The editor and at least one subject expert review each submission, usually within four weeks.
  • Submissions about communities and regions in Upstate New York receive special consideration.
